I’m getting an error that the company file hasn’t been upgraded for use with AccountEdge Pro v14.5 yet and when I try to upgrade it cannot as the software came from dropbox. Anyone else on Mac with this issue?

When I try to open the Browns Enterprises file, it keeps opening up as a Word File and as a result I am unable to view the file properly.
I followed the instructions as per the Student Manual but when I tried saving the file in my C drive I was disallowed from doing so. I saved it in another file and tried opening it but it asked me which program to use to open the file. It only gave me 3 options: Adobe, Word and Internet Explorer. I experimented and clicked Word. As a result, I am now unable to access the Browns Enterprises file at all.
Please can you advise me on the best course of action.
